Joseph J. Carr is an electronics engineer by profession. He holds a Bachelors degree from the University of the State of New York and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

Joe has been a ham radio operator since 1959.

One of Mr. Carr's distinctions is that he has written more than 600 articles and 83 books, most of them on topics in electronics. He regularly writes for Popular Electronics, Nuts 'n' Volts, Popular Communications, 73, Shortwave, Practical Wireless and Elektor Electronics.
