# Son Operation # Son Town This is your best chance to seriously delay XXX Corps. Hold the bridge long enough to destroy it, and then withdraw and wait for the counterattack. The Americans have few avenues of approach to the town. Position your machine gun teams so that they have long, unobstructed lanes of fire. You have an 8.8-cm FlaK gun at your disposal, but you have no vehicles with which to move it. This is a good first meeting with the Americans. There will be no surprises until their tanks arrive. Fall back when you must. This is not a critical map, but if you can delay the Allies here you will have a chance to set your charges on the Son bridge so that you can blow it if you must. # Son Bridge Stop the Allies here. Blow the bridge if you must, but then you will have to retreat to the Son South area. Your task is fairly simple, since you control most of the buildings and covering terrain. You also have two 8.8-cm FlaK guns at your disposal. However, as before, these guns are immobile. You hold the upper hand here. Enjoy the conflict. Should you succeed in repulsing the Allies, do not press on to Son Town. You must stay and defend the bridge while it still stands. # Son South This is as good a place as any to launch a counterattack against the bridge at Son and try to blow it a second time. Conserve your forces to make sure you're strong enough to take the bridge. You will have a chance to counterattack on the 20th. If you retreat from this battlefield after this date, your troops will be recalled and this operation canceled.
