Nijmegen Crossing Operation

Nijmegen River Crossing

This operation is a daring attempt to take the northern
approach of the Nijmegen bridge.  You have just
crossed the river in small boats and will need to fight
your way onto shore.  You have the element of surprise
in your favor but if you delay, German reinforcements 
will have time to arrive and make the operation very difficult.

This is the ultimate foot race to victory.  Rush the enemy 
positions and press on to the riverfront so that you can take 
the bridge approaches before they can be reinforced.

Nijmegen Riverfront

You have no time to worry about losses.  If you get bogged 
down here and the enemy gets reinforcements, the 1st Airborne 
will be lost.

Nijmegen North Bridge

You have almost made it.  Hurry to the bridge and hold the 
northern end so that XXX Corps' tanks can get on the road 
to Arnhem.  If the northern end of the bridge is secured, 
XXX Corps will have an open road to Arnhem and 
Colonel Frost.
