Groesbeek Heights Operation

Groesbeek Heights

These are the dominant heights in the area of Nijmegen.  If 
these hills are not secure, then the highway is not secure.

Groesbeek Farmland

Securing this area is key to the defense of the high ground 
around Groesbeek.  Quick attacks and a wise defense will 
carry the day.  A strong antitank defense will come in very 
handy here.

Groesbeek Landing Zone

You must keep the Germans from the Groesbeek Heights as 
long as possible to allow the XXX Corps troops unhindered 
access into Nijmegen.  Until they arrive, this will be the
primary staging area and source of supplies for 82nd Airborne.
As such, letting it fall into German hands would be a disaster

You may have to fall back, but try to hold on until XXX Corps
arrives somewhere around Day 4.
