This folder contains the source files needed to install Python 2.22. Python can be installed on Windows by double-clicking on the Python-2.2.2.exe. For a UNIX platform or OS X you need to use the ruby-1.8.0.tar.gz and perform the steps to configure, make, and make install. MacPython222Full.bin is an installer for OS 8.6 or higher, excluding OS X

This folder also contains software used in chapters 3, 4, and 5. It includes an Alpha version of Python (version 2.32), the HAP and PythonWin debuggers (in the DEBUGGERS folder), Distutils, Numeric Python, PAWS, Py2exe, Pygame, PyOpenGL, and Pyzzle.
